Power of Positive Affirmations

Your thoughts have a large impact on your success, sense of confidence, self love, relationships, and completely shape your reality daily. Taking that into consideration, this is one small change will affect the rest of your life, and most importantly the quality of your life!

What are positive affirmations?

Positive affirmations: statements you repeat that affect the subconscious mind, making it act to attract success and improve your life.

                                            Defeating negative self-talk

Negative self talk is a downward spiral of your mind focusing on the things it DOES NOT like, want, appreciate, wants to avoid, or seek revenge in some way on someone or some event....Read that again...Now, the power of the mind is that it MANIFESTS in your life, what you FOCUS upon the most! Wow! Now look at your life, does this ring true to you?

There are a myriad of excuses or reasons individuals can come up with, to explain their constant negative self talk. But, unless the negative behavior or habit is pointed out the them, most individuals do not realize they are doing it as often as they are. This unconscious learned behavior creates limitations on their own personal ability to achieve their goals.

                                       Steps to defeat negative self-talk

1. Realize and identify the times when you spiral and focus on something or someone that bring up negative thoughts, attitudes or moods.

2. Once you realize and have identified any culprits or triggers to negativity, acknowledge the feelings then tell yourself to STOP -think of a big red stop sign in your mind- and tell yourself.."NO, this is NOT worth my time or energy I could be using to spend thinking about what I DO want!" Then train yourself to switch your thought patterns faster each time!

3. Replace your negative subject matter/thoughts, with POSITIVE affirmations.

'Feed' or 'starve' cancer with food?

Can what we eat, starve cancer through Angiogenesis?

It is a proven fact that cancer cannot grow with enough oxygen in your cells, an alkaline blood ph, and a strong immune system mainly created from your intestinal system. But, where do blood vessels come into the equation, and what is Angiogenesis? What does that have to do with cancer? Here is William Le discussing the study of Angiogenesis, which describes that what you eat, can actually starve cancer growth, and inhibit blood vessels from feeding tumor growths in unhealthy cells.

Comment below with your thoughts.

Why I choose Organic

  1. Organic Fruits and Vegetables taste BETTER, and have a higher nutrient content! - "  A study review authored by London School of Hygiene and Tropical Health researchers looks at the paucity of data now available concerning the nutrition-related health effects of organic foods, and points out the need for better designed studies to answer this question. The review, which appeared in the May 12, 2010,  online posting of articles for The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, only found 12 studies with any relevance to nutrition-related aspects of organic food, and most of these were poorly designed and flawed." Organic Trade Association- Nutritional Considerations for Organic
  2. I support sustainable agricultural practices.- " Research at The Rodale Institute has shown that organic practices can remove about 7,000 pounds of carbon dioxide from the air and sequester it in an acre of farmland per year. Thus, Rodale estimates that if all 434 million acres of U.S. cropland were converted to organic practices, it would be the equivalent of eliminating 217 million cars—nearly 88 percent of all cars in the country today and more than a third of all the automobiles in the world. "
  3. I learned about the dangers of consuming Genetically Modified Food.- I also was excited to be able to attend the World Food Day Rally 2011. Check out www.LabelGMOs.org

4. I research (the last 8 years) reasons why human disease has sky rocketed in the last 30 years! Pesticides are DANGEROUS!! GMO's ARE DANGEROUS!

Research all of these issues, and just by being educated you can heal yourself! The power of food is amazing! Many Dr's are not educated on nutrition and it's healing properties. Trust yourself first!

WATER 101

Three cheers for WATER!

Water is essential for life and longevity! Everyone has heard about drinking the recommended amount of 8 glasses of water per day. But how many of us actually make the time to consciously take note of how much water we consume daily?
A typical American is unaware that they are perpetually on the brink of dehydration most of the time. Some of the symptoms of dehydration according to the Mayo Clinic are:
"Mild to moderate dehydration is likely to cause:
  • Dry, sticky mouth
  • Sleepiness or tiredness — children are likely to be less active than usual
  • Thirst
  • Decreased urine output — no wet diapers for three hours for infants and eight hours or more without urination for older children and teens
  • Few or no tears when crying
  • Dry skin
  • Headache
  • Constipation
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
Severe dehydration, a medical emergency, can cause:
  • Extreme thirst
  • Extreme fussiness or sleepiness in infants and children; irritability and confusion in adults
  • Very dry mouth, skin and mucous membranes
  • Lack of sweating
  • Little or no urination — any urine that is produced will be dark yellow or amber
  • Sunken eyes
  • Shriveled and dry skin that lacks elasticity and doesn't "bounce back" when pinched into a fold
  • In infants, sunken fontanels — the soft spots on the top of a baby's head
  • Low blood pressure
  • Rapid heartbeat
  • Rapid breathing
  • No tears when crying
  • Fever
  • In the most serious cases, delirium or unconsciousness
Unfortunately, thirst isn't always a reliable gauge of the body's need for water, especially in children and older adults. A better indicator is the color of your urine: Clear or light-colored urine means you're well hydrated, whereas a dark yellow or amber color usually signals dehydration."

So, as you can see, not getting enough water can cause many symptoms we may be used to, or consider normal. What happens is that many people replace drinking water with tea, soda, coffee, milk, juice, flavored water,  energy drinks, alcohol or whatever they can get their hands on that, is NOT water!

Some of these beverages are good for you once in a while, especially organic green teas. But, they do not replace simply drinking 6-8 glasses of water per day (depending on your age and weight). Have you been suffering from any of the listed symptoms? Check out if you are getting enough water: Human Daily Water Requirements
