We love Cream of Rice cereal at our house! I'm always looking for more ways to save money and stretch our dollars through out the month on groceries. I realized that I was spending money on something I could make myself - at over HALF the price, and get MORE bang for my buck!
Before I get into the tutorial on HOW exactly to do it - I want to cover some of the risks and health benefits of rice in your diet.
*WARNING*
Firstly, rice is at a high risk of being contaminated with arsenic from the soil and water it was grown in. I only recommend purchasing Organic jasmine rice, or organic brown rice from origins other than China, Mexico and the US - where the arsenic levels in their rice have been found to be the highest.
*Imported basmati and jasmine rices showed about half to one-eighth the level of arsenic as regular rices grown in the

HOW TO GRIND YOUR OWN
CREAM OF RICE:
STEP 1:
Buy Organic Rice in bulk
STEP 2:
Get a coffee grinder (we just use a small size)
STEP 3:
Rinse the amount of rice you want to grind for 10 minutes then let dry on paper towel.
STEP 4:
Grind Rice and store in labeled plastic bag or Storage container with lid in pantry.
~ 1 lb. of rice will grind 1lb. of cereal ~
